[Nagisa seems really happy today. She's wearing her blue stage uniform again today, and she can't seem to stop smiling.]

You know what feels really good? Doing something nice for a couple of friends, who have done a lot for you. So. Chieri, Shinji-kun? Keep an eye out, okay? I got you both an egg from the Breeding Centre! Come find me and I'll tell you all of the details.

[Nagisa smiles brightly.]

And don't either of you say no! I wanted to do it and I've been careful about money, so it's just fine. Okay?

[After a minute, she hums a little to herself - just a few notes, not breaking out into song just yet. Still, it's a pretty peppy melody.]

Anyway, I also have a question for everyone else! I think I might be getting close to being ready for my first Gym Battle! I'm kind of nervous, though. I know Falkner uses Flying Types, so Kaze, my Pidgey, is out. and I have Yuuko, who's a bred Vulpix at level 11 with Will O' Wisp and Flamethrower, Dii-chan, who's level 12 with Pound, Growl, Refresh, and Double Slap, and Hashi, who's a bred Piplup and level 10, with Agility, Growl, Pound, and Bubble.

Do you think that'll be enough, or should I train a little more? I have a Ledyba, but Bug types are weak against Flying, and I got myself a Shinx from the Breeding Centre, but it'll still have to hatch. I can try and catch something around here, too...

I mean, this is like an opening day. I want to be as ready as I can be, you know?

I know I didn't have to, but I really wanted to.

It's a Swablu egg - after everything we were talking about with the wind and all, I thought some kind of bird was right. Also, it's the same shade of blue as your hair is, so if anyone ever takes photos of you and your Pokemon, between you, your Oshawott, and your Swablu, it would be super-cute!

Anyway, It's got...ah, how did Laguna-san explain it? There are things that Pokemon can learn from its parents, called 'egg moves'. Yuuko has some, and you probably saw them yourself, in how she has Will O'Wisp and Flamethrower already; she got them from her mom and dad. Your Swablu will have some too - Agility and Dragon Rush.

I'm not to sure about having my picture taken... [Outside of Miichan and her photo shoots, anyway.] - But I appreciate the gesture.

[She'll have to do something for Nagisa in return sometime.]

'Egg moves'... I've picked up an egg before- Kirara, my Petilil- but I didn't know about those.

Well, maybe not the picture. But the part about the wind, and the blue sky and all...that's all true.

[Nagisa's smile turns a bit sheepish for a minute, then goes back to normal.]

That's right. I didn't know about them until Laguna-san was talking about them. The way I understood it right is that if the Pokemon's parents know certain moves, the egg that hatches from them has a chance of knowing those same ones when it hatches, so it's stronger at the start. So that's why Yuuko has those two moves.

...her name really does fit her. She wanted to go all by herself to make sure you were okay, you know.

It's fine- I understand what you mean. And I'll look forward to the egg hatching.

[Kirara hatched when she was still in Cherrygrove with Nagisa, but Chieri's a little more prepared to deal with a pokemon egg now.]

I wonder what egg moves Kirara has then... [She never asked, but Chieri's sure she'll figure it out soon enough.] Yuuko's name really does fit her, doesn't it? I'm glad she was there to keep me company while I traveled to catch up with you.

What do you think you want to name it? It's always fun, doing that.

Hmm...is there something she has that's especially strong? That would probably be it.

[Nagisa nods.]

I can't tell whether she took after her namesake, or whether she was always meant to be the way she is, but either way, it fits. I'm glad she was, too. It took a whole lot of worry off my mind.

I'm not sure yet, to be honest- Kirara is the only one I've named so far, if only because she reminded me of my kirara... Oshawott's seemed fine with being called 'Oshawott', but sometimes I think she reminds me of Mariko in some ways.

[Chieri tries to think.]

Well... she already had four moves upon hatching, but I noticed she knew Ingrain.

Well, she does look like your kirara! It makes a lot of sense. Dii-chan's Dii-chan because she woke me up going 'Dii' and tapping at me like she does, and I thought that she was trying to tell me her name, to be honest...

[There's a sudden pop! sound from Nagisa's bag, and the Pokemon in question is suddenly beside her, going 'Dii!' rather insistently.]

...or that's exactly what she was doing. [Nagisa can't help but laugh for a minute, but she gets back on track quickly.]

Sounds like that's it, then!

I didn't realize it'd be that easy to figure out. [She should have thought about that sooner- and hello there, Dii-chan.]

You and Dii-chan get along pretty well, don't you?

Now you do, though! That's the important thing.

[Nagisa smiles, giving the Audino a pat on its head. It smiles, moving closer to her and looking up with a clear smile.]

Yeah, we do. Take a look at Dii-chan's ears - see how they're the size they are? All Audino are natural listeners, but it goes past that to being able to sense what other people and other Pokemon are feeling, and that clicked with me.

Besides that, she really loves music - she tries to sing along with me when I practice sometimes!

Before we encountered the Funghi in Funghistar, I never would have guessed that our music could reach even those who aren't human. [But Sayaka certainly showed them all.] It's nice to hear you have a practice partner, though- I think Oshawott just likes to record my singing when I'm not paying attention!

[Chieri is going to seriously have to hide her Gear better.]

Oshawott's a music video producer in the making. [Nagisa giggles.]

No, though, you're right - everything Sayaka-san taught us that day has definitely paid off. Right, Dii-chan?

[The answer isn't in words. It's in the Pokemon's best rendition of Aitakatta, with the dance motions.]

[Oh, that was cute, and now she has to applaud Dii-chan.]

That was good, Dii-chan! You're almost a natural at 'Aitakatta'.

[She takes a bow and waves, just like Nagisa would.]

It's her favorite. Once I figured out she liked music, we kinda sang it together on the Gears for everyone, when I first got here.

Really? [Oh, huh, she didn't know that. Then again, it's not like she would to begin with, as she arrived sometime after Nagisa did.] I suppose we should all practice together sometime, then. What do you think, Nagisa? Dii-chan?

I think we definitely should!

[There's a lot of enthusiastic agreement from Dii-chan, who sticks her hands out - she can't quite hook a thumb and finger together, but it's close enough, and she holds one hand out to Chieri. Nagisa hooks her thumb and finger together with Dii-chan, then offers her other hand to Chieri, too.]

[Haha, oh, she knows what this is. Chieri links hands, well, fingers with Nagisa, and is about to with Dii-chan when Oshawott, not wanting to be left out, decides to invite herself into the circle, joining with the others.]

Ready, set, here we go!
